Knife-making course-

The knife making course is a good way to learn what goes in to making a knife or to start your own hobby as a knife maker. During the course we will cover U.K. knife law and knife safety.

Knife design, Knife sharpening, Heat Treating, Knife construction, simple sheath construction. As well as the theory side you will get to make and keep your very own Bushcraft knife, you will get a handmade 01 carbon steel blank, heat  treated and bevels roughly ground, you will clean and shape it with  files and glass paper and construct the rest of your knife with our guidance to how you like it.

If you enjoy hands on then you will enjoy this! A good day out and a nice way to get your own knife. Come and enjoy a day in our woods making your own Bushcraft knife!

For your money you will get : A full days course, this is a comprehensive course and will give you the knowledge to enable you to go away and make further knives and have a good understanding of how they are designed and constructed. A leather sheath, here you will make and take away with you a simple leather sheath for your knife, again you will then be able to take this knowledge home and design more elaborate sheaths and apply this to other leather work projects.

Fire in the wilderness - Including fire by friction! -

This course gives you an informative and in-depth whole day, learning how to create fire safely in the wilderness, from start to finish. Also on this course you will learn about tinder, ignition methods, fire lays, fuel types, burning properties, the environment and fire safety.

Shelter in the wilderness -

I will teach you how to make various shelters for different occasions, you will learn where to make shelter, try different methods of shelter, natural and man-made, be shown the best location for your shelter and how to clear up leaving no trace.

Finding and Making water safe -

This course is all about one of the  necessities for life - Water, water is everywhere but is not always safe. You will learn water indicators, how to collect it, how to make it safe to drink though various methods, what diseases it may bring if untreated, how to manage and store the water to keep it safe.

Cooking over a fire -

Some days you have to have fun whilst learning, cooking over an open fire may sound simple but there are many things that need to be factored in, such as the type of wood to be used, the correct fire lay to give you your embers, how to prepare the food, and which woods can give antibacterial properties and which ones to avoid!

Craft Day -

On the craft day you will start with a blank piece of wood and create a craft item, you will be shown how make a spoon, how to make cordage, and how to gather the materials in a way that protects the environment.
